Through my figurative work I attempt to tell stories of ordinary people that have been made extraordinary by courage and determination. The subject at first might appear as a contemplative face but, upon closer examination, the story of the person unfolds by and by. My paintings are not an attempt to simplify but to glory in the mystery and paradoxes of life – not to give in to dismay caused by multitude of causes and consequences that are inherent in each experience but to revel in complexities of life.
